Abstract

The present study investigated the mammalian fauna in Kars and Iğdır Province, Turkey. The aim of study is to identify mammal species in the area and determine factors threatening these species. Field studies were conducted between 2016 and 2018. During the field studies, information collected from live traps pitfall trap, phototrap, nest, feces, footprint and analysis of body parts of animals in Owl pellets. As a result of field studies, totally 34 species (Kars province) and 28 species (Iğdır province) were identified from the orders Eulipotyphla, Rodentia, Lagomorpha, Carnivora, Cetartiodactyla of mammal class.
